Busy Signals
BACKGROUND
Customer usage of our internet service varies from hour-to-hour,
day-to-day, season-to-season and fluctuates widely during each day from the highest
usage to the lowest usage. We maintain enough modems to accommodate normal ranges
of usage by our customers at peak times. We monitor customer usage at various
times during the day to make sure that we have enough lines and modems to accommodate
normal ranges of customer usage, even at the times of the day when customer usage
is normally the highest. KCTC maintains a user to modem ratio of less than 7:1,
we do not know of any ISP that maintains a ratio of less than 9:1, with major
online services maintaining an average ratio of 30-50:1.
OCCASIONAL EXCEPTIONS
Nevertheless, it is still possible that our customers may experience
busy signals. If a busy signal occurs, it could be one of those occasions during
extraordinarily high internet usage (large news/sports events, severe weather,
etc.) Should a busy occur, please wait approximately 10 minutes and try again.
