How do I change my e-mail
password?
In order to change your e-mail password you must first change
it with KCTC. To do this, you may stop by our office located at 510 B Avenue,
Kalona or give us a call at 319-656-3668. At this time we do not accept password
changes over the Internet or e-mail.
After you've changed your password with KCTC, you will need
to change it in your computer. Changing your e-mail password will affect both
KCTC WebMail and any 3rd party e-mail client you may use, such as Outlook Express
or Netscape. In most cases, after changing your password with KCTC, many 3rd party
e-mail clients will prompt you for the new password when checking for new e-mail.
When typing in your new password you may choose Remember Password, if desired.
What is WebMail?
Kalona Telephone recently added a new service called WebMail
for all KCTC Dial-up and DSL customers. WebMail is a web based e-mail client that
allows you to check your KCTC e-mail from any computer in the world that has access
to the Internet. To use WebMail, type the following address into your Internet
browser, Internet Explorer is recommended: http://webmail.kctc.net.
A login screen will appear asking you to enter a username and
password. Once your username and password is entered, click "Login"
to begin using WebMail. KCTC recommends that you only use WebMail when you're
out of town or away from you're computer.
Why can't I see my messages in WebMail?
Only new messages, not previously received/downloaded at home,
will appear in your WebMail Inbox. Additionally, new messages received in your
WebMail can be viewed at home.
Why can't I send to multiple recipients?
Make sure all recipients are listed in the "To" field
and are separated with semicolons(;).
Why can't I delete my messages?
To delete a message check the corresponding box to the left
and choose "Delete/Undelete" from the menu. Choose "Purge deleted"
to permanently remove all previously deleted messages from the current folder.
How do I move my messages to a designated
folder?
Check the corresponding box to the left of the message. Next
choose the designated folder from the drop down menu at the top.
How do I send attachments?
Choose "New" from the Inbox and then click "Attachments."
Select browse to find where your attachment is located on your computer. Once
you find the attachment you would like to send, click open. The location of your
attachment will be displayed and then choose "Attach" from the attachment
window, then "Close." Your attachment will then be added to your message
and sent as usual.
Is it necessary for me to "logoff"
WebMail?
If more than one person uses your computer, you may choose to
logoff so others cannot access your email. It is not necessary to logoff for any
other reason.
I am still having problems.
If you are still having problems with your computer or WebMail,
you may contact KCTC by phone: 656-3668, or by email: support@kctc.net.
