Email spoofing is when someone, often with malicious intent, impersonates a business or important person in hopes of gaining personal information. They try to influence a person’s emotions by making the message seem urgent to catch their attention. They also make those emails look legitimate but often leave key indicators that they aren’t. One key thing to look for is the sender of the email. Another key indication that the email is not legitimate is that it may have misspellings and grammatical errors.
